Ashley Du Plooy
Director
Ashley has close to 15 years of experience in the construction industry through which he has developed a keen understanding of what his clients need.
Having worked in various aspects of construction, plumbing, as well as site and project management, Ashley is able to bring these insights to each new project.
Ashley is passionate about creating impact by “starting at home” and caring about those closest to him. This is most noticeable in the commitment of his staff, many of whom have been employed by ADP since its inception. Ashley leads the team with a respectful, friendly and caring manner, always looking for ways to grow and develop his staff. Ashley is a hard-working, loyal, dedicated, and authentic person who believes in “old school family values'' and this in turn defines the core character of the company.
When not working hard on site, Ashley devotes his time to his wife and two young children.
He also loves to surf and can occasionally be seen frequenting the beaches of the deep south in search of the next wave.
Gavin Cox
Professional Technical Engineer
Gavin has more than 40 years of experience in the Construction Industry. He founded G.K. Cox Engineering in 1990 which he ran for more than 20 years, offering project management, construction management, and consulting and design services to various engineering and management companies. Gavin was registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Civil Engineering Technologist in 1992.
After running his own company for two decades, Gavin took on the role of General Manager for the Cape Town branch of one of the world’s top ranked international consulting companies up until 2021.
Gavin has experience in a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects, including high-end domestic housing, mining, wind turbines, materials handling, conveyors, oil rigs, petrochemical, heavy industrial, telecommunications, high-level masts, pipework, plate-work, storage tanks, marine structures, power lines, mining, commercial, healthcare and industrial buildings. Gavin has experience managing NEC, FIDIC & JBCC Contracts and a vast knowledge on tendering, estimating, pricing, marketing and procurement having run his own construction company for more than 20 years. Aside from domestic housing, Gavin has project managed high-profile projects including, Medupi Power Station Auxiliary Cooling, (the largest air-cooled, coal fired power station in the world) Medupi piping and mechanical installations to Turbines, conveyors for the Alusaf Hillside Smelter (Richards Bay), construction on various goldmines in South Africa, the construction of power transmission lines in South Africa and the supply and construction of large wind turbines (South Africa’s first - part of ESKOM’s trial wind-farm at Klipheuwel, Cape Town). He has also supplied consulting services on various projects including SALT (South African Large Telescope), Namco – challenger Project (offshore diamond processing vessel), Goldfields West & East Driefontein gold mines & Cell-C, Vodacom, MTN and Eskom roll-out projects for site builds.
Gavin’s deep and multi-faceted understanding of construction and his extensive experience are brought to all of ADP’s projects making sure each site is sound from an engineering perspective.
Gavin lives with his wife and has 3 grown up children and 5 grandchildren.
Watchmore Chirimabowa
Apprentice Project Manager
Watchmore joined ADP at the start of 2022 as an apprentice project manager and has taken to this role with passion and intention, growing from strength to strength.
Watchmore oversees various aspects of the onsite work and is also qualified to drive heavy-class vehicles. Watchmore is enthusiastic, hardworking and always willing to help wherever he can.
Blessimore Muumbe
Wetworks Foreman
Blessimore has been in the construction industry for 14 years and at ADP for nearly 5 years. Anyone who has tried their hand at plastering knows what precise skill is required to do it well and Blessimore brings all of his years of experience to the fore to deliver meticulous plastering, brickwork, and screeding work on our sites.
Simon Mlambo
Carpentry Foreman
Simon is our carpentry foreman and brings over a decade of experience to ADP. Simon is nimble and capable with his woodwork tools and brings careful consideration to his work. He lives in Cape Town with his wife and kids and when he is not working on-site, he loves playing and watching football.
JT
Plumbing and site foreman
JT has 20 years of plumbing experience and has been a qualified plumber with the Construction and Education Training Board (CETA) since 2008. He is also registered with both the Plumbing Industry Registration Board (BIRB) and with the City of Cape Town as a qualified plumber. These registrations allow him to carry out and sign off on plumbing inspections, installations and repair works. JT has extensive knowledge of all plumbing installations and maintenance, including the design, management and installation of solar thermal and geyser heat pump systems, AQUALOOP GW greywater recycling systems, and PURERAIN rainwater harvesting systems. JT is qualified to carry out City of Cape Towns Schedule 4 Water by-law plumbing inspections for deed of sale as well as smart metering and prepaid water meter installations. JT is a family man and loves spending time with my family and friends and is prepared to light a braai any time of the year. He also enjoys playing and watching rugby in his free time.
Hardlife Ndhlovu
Painting Foreman
It's difficult to find a better painter than Hardlife who has 16 years of experience and has been with ADP for 2 years. Hardlife is calm and patient and while he doesn't say much, his work speaks for itself. Hardlife is an avid Orlando Pirates supporter.
Phillip Sitole
Tiling Foreman
Phillip heads up our tiling department with care and competence. He is not only a tiling expert but also has carpentry skills that he learnt from his father. Phillip has been in construction for 6 years, 4 of those years with ADP.
Dave Fisher
Business Manager
Dave heads up our business and office administration with a focus on building ADP's structures and systems as we continue to grow as a company. With a diverse career background having worked in the education, tourism, and media sectors where he has developed a broad range of skills that transfer across industries. Dave brings these skills to the fore in developing ADP's brand, internal structures, and the practical day-to-day running of the business. When not at work Dave is usually on the beach with his family.
